A 15-year-old girl was harassed by a courier boy on Tuesday afternoon who arrived when she was alone at home. The accused entered the house and grabbed her from the back when she had turned to fetch water for the accused. A complaint has been lodged at Sabarmati Police Station; the accused was arrested from his house shortly.

The incident took place in a flat located in New Ranip area. On Tuesday, at around 2.30 pm, when she was alone at home, a courier from a bank arrived.

She had collected the courier and even signed the receipt when the courier boy asked for some water. The girl went in and got him a glass, but he asked for more.

When she went inside again, the



accused followed her inside and tried pulling her towards him. Scared, the victim pushed him down and began screaming for help. However, the courier boy ran out of the house and managed to flee.

The girl narrated the entire incident to her parents who then lodged a police complaint. During the investigation, the accused was identified as Suraj Oza, 21, a resident of Ranip, who worked as a freelance courier boy for the Digvijay post office.

DV Rana, Inspector, Sabarmati Police Station, said: "We got information on the accused from the post office and he was nabbed from his house. The accused confessed to having violated the girl's privacy and we have lodged a case under IPC 354 against him."
