In a shocking incident, a Gurgaon student was stabbed to death after he tried to stop a couple from quarrelling at a deserted location in Garh Palace Fort. The deceased student has been identified as Anil Bamal.
According to a report, the police said that the 22-year-old student was from Gurgaon and was stabbed in the chest. Bamal, a resident of Tekchand Nagar in Gurgaon’s Sector 104, had appeared for national eligibility-cum-entrance test (NEET) on Sunday at an examination centre in Jaipur.
Police identified the man who allegedly stabbed Bamal as Lalit Kahar, 20. He fled with the girl after stabbing Bamal, but was later arrested, police said. Kahar works with a DJ team that performs at weddings.
According to the report, Rajesh Meshram, DSP,
Kota City, said that Bamal had gone to the fort with three friends when they spotted the quarrelling couple. After Bamal was stabbed, his friends rushed him to hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Bamal used to live in a rented accommodation in Kota’s Rangbari and had been pursuing coaching for medical entrance examinations for four years. He had completed his schooling from Kota. After appearing in the NEET exam on Sunday, Bamal had returned to Kota to collect his belongings.
This is not the first time such incident has happened in Kota. A student from Bihar, Satya Prakash, 19, was murdered on May 12 last year by a mob.
Around 1.5 lakh students from across the country take coaching for JEE and NEET in Kota every year.
