SIDDIPET (Telangana): An armed reserved head constable of Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) A Venkateshwarlu (38) committed suicide at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar's farmhouse at Erravellly village of Markook mandal in Siddipet district on Wednesday. Venkateshwarlu shot on his temple with a 9mm carbine weapon. According to Siddipet Police Commissioner D Joel Davis, Venkateshwarlu, who was a guard incharge at the CM's farmhouse, committed suicide by shooting himself down.
After the incident, he was rushed to the Area Hospital in Gajwel where the doctors declared him dead. The body was handed over to his family members after postmortem. By registering a case under section 174 of the CrPC, police are investigating.
Siddipet Police Commissioner said that he was addicted to liquor and was admitted to a
de-addiction centre in Hyderabad by his family members. After undergoing treatment he had joined the duties again on September 29. But he continued consuming liquor within a few days and stopped reporting to the duties without informing the concerned officials.
The senior officials reinstated him on Tuesday after considering the request of his wife. Venkateshwarlu belongs to 2003 batch and was a native of Chada village of Valigonda mandal. He is survived by his wife Shoba (30), a vegetable seller and two children Vennela (13) 8th class student and Chandu (12), a class 7 student. According to senior police officials he was removed from duties from June 16, 2005 to December 3, 2006 for abusing and harassing a woman. He was also punished several times for skipping duties without prior information.
