Husband kills wife with cooking pan

New Delhi: A man killed his wife with an iron cooking pan here in the presence of his three children following a heated argument, police said on Wednesday.

The incident was reported around 9 p.m. on Tuesday from Malviya Nagar in south Delhi, police said. Police said that Sharafat, 35, who is on the run since the incident, killed his wife Kavita, 32, by hitting her with an iron cooking pan after a heated argument ensued between them over some petty issue.

"Sharafat later wrapped his wife's body in a cloth and put it inside the bed before fleeing from the spot," said



a police officer.

The officer said that the matter came to light after the victim's children made a phone call to their grandparents and informed them about the incident.

"Our initial investigation revealed that Sharafat fell in love with Kavita 15 years ago and eventually married her. For the past few months, the couple fought frequently over some issue," said the officer.

"The neighbours said that Sharafat is having an affair with another woman and this was the cause of quarrel between them," the officer added.
