A woman in Telangana killed her husband in collusion with her paramour. She then poured acid on her lover’s face to pass him off as her husband.
However, while executing the daring plan little did the woman and her lover probably did not consider the role of the deceased’s family, who became suspicious of the body language and incongruity in this “new son” of theirs.
Swathi, who was married to Sudhakar Reddy for a couple of years, allegedly decided to kill him after she had an affair with Rajesh.
According to a report, the two allegedly killed Sudhakar on November 26 at their residence in Nagarkurnool district, by hitting him on the head with a blunt object while he was sleeping. Swathi and Rajesh then dumped the body at the nearby Maisamma forest.
The next move was to disfigure Rajesh’s face so that he
could take Sudhakar’s place and say that he had suffered burns.
Two days later, Swathi poured acid on Rajesh's face and claimed before her in-laws that her husband had suffered burns after being attacked by unknown persons while he was in Hyderabad.
Convinced with the story, her in-laws got Rajesh admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment. The couple had planned to get a plastic surgery done on Rajesh’s face so that they are not left with any doubts.
The report adds that Swathi's in-laws had already spent Rs 5 lakhs on Rajesh's treatment. However, Sudhakar's mother got suspicious on noticing some changes in her 'son' as he was not able to talk about even the basic family matters or answer any question.
The family informed the police. After interrogation, Swathi revealed the entire plot and was arrested on Sunday.
