Inter student jumps to death in Hyderabad

A second year Intermediate student jumped to his death from the fourth floor of an apartment in Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB) in the early hours of Friday.

Mallavarapu Bhavan (16), a student of Sri Chaitanya Junior College in Narsingi, went up to the fourth floor of Pragathi Elegance Apartments where his uncle resides and jumpedoff thebalcony at 3.15am. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed at 5.30am. Bhavan, who resided in a college hostel, visited his uncle’s flat on Thursday and was supposed leave on Friday for Warangal, his native



place.

“Bhavan did not leave any suicide note. He shouted loudly and jumped off the balcony. There was no pressure on him to do well in studies. In fact, he had been doing well in his MPC second year,’’ KPHB inspector Ch Kushalkar told. Bhavan’s father Sharathraju is an Armed Reserve (AR) constable in Warangal.

Police booked a case and an investigation is underway. “The reasons behind his death are yet to be ascertained,” a police official said. The body has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy.
