In Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists fired upon one Kashmiri Pandit employee Rahul Bhat who was working in Tehsildar Office at Chadoora in Central Kashmir's Budgam district yesterday.
Police sources said that the critically injured Rahul was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. However, he succumbed to his grievous injuries.
Preliminary investigation reveals that two terrorists are involved in this heinous crime & have used pistols for committing this crime.
The whole area has been cordoned off by the security forces and a massive manhunt was launched to nab the assailants involved in the terror incident.
Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has strongly condemned the barbaric killing of Rahul Bhat by terrorists at Budgam. He said that those involved in this despicable terror attack
will not go unpunished. In his condolence message, he expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and said that the J&K government stands in solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.
Meanwhile, Migrant Kashmiri Pandits (KPs), majority of the government employees working under Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation Package, have registered their strong protest outside Vessu Qazigund Migrant Camp on Jammu Srinagar National Highway, Sheikhpora Badgam, and Indra Nagar in Srinagar against the killing of their colleague Rahul Bhat at Chadoora, Budgam.
Hundreds of the protestors also blocked the Srinagar-Jammu highway outside Vessu migrant KP Colony Qazigund and Indra Nagar in Srinagar to protest against the barbaric killing. They also lit candles to register their protest.
