Lecturer booked for harassing girl student in Hyderabad

A lecturer working a private college in Hyderabad, who was allegedly harassing a girl student for her private pictures and asking her for sex, was booked by the Neredmet police, following a complaint from the victim. The lecturer, B. Sagar, a resident of Kushaiguda, is absconding, police said.

The victim, a 19-year-old from Neredmet, was doing her graduation in a private college near ECIL. On Wednesday, she lodged a complaint with the Neredmet police stating that Sagar, 29, was harassing her for the last two



months.

She alleged that Sagar was demanding that she send private pictures and to fulfil his sexual desire. He was sending objectionable videos to her mobile number and was commenting about her physical appearance.

Neredmet inspector A. Narsimha Swamy said “A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 354 D and 354 A of the IPC, based on the victim’s complaint.” 

A search is on for Sagar, the inspector said.
