Chandigarh: A man allegedly committed suicide in Chandigarh after learning about his wife's extra-marital affair. The 38-year-old ended his life on Friday, June 14 at his residence in Bamuwal, Chandigarh. Singh used to earn his living by working as a carpenter and was a father to three children.
Singh's wife was identified as Sarabjit Kaur. Kaur, her paramour Gopi, his friends Gurpreet Singh and Ladhi were booked by the police after Singh's mother lodged a complaint.
Singh's mother, Pritam Kaur told media, "Sukhjinder had recently completed some carpenting work at Gopi's house. On Thursday, he went to collect the money, however, Gopi and his friends teased him over Gopi's
affair with his wife and also refused to give money. Depressed over the incident, he consumed some poisonous substances at home."
Assistant sub-inspector Som Nath said that the accused are yet to be nabbed. The police booked the four accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
A similar incident came to light from Pune on thursday, June 13 when a man stabbed his girlfriend after suspecting her of infidelity. The victim was identified as Veena Patle. Allegedly, the accused, Kiran Shinde went to Patle's house along with a friend. The accused allegedly stabbed Patle after the two had a heated argument at the latter's residence. The accused managed to escape.
