A 31-year-old married man, who lured a minor girl on the pretext of marriage and sexually abused her for three days by confining her to a room a few days ago, was arrested at Katedan on Wednesday .He was involved in a robbery case in the past.
Assistant commissioner of police (Charminar division) Ashok Chakravarthy said Mirza Rahmath Ali Baig in the absence of his wife, who was admitted to hospital for her fifth delivery, befriended the 16-year-old victim. The accused called the girl on April 14 and the victim, without informing her family members, left her house and did not return.The next day , she called up her parents and informed them that she had gone to Himayatsagar along with her friends and that she would return shortly

Meanwhile, her family members came to know that she was actually in the company of Rahmath Ali, who resides at Alibagh. When the family members went to his Alibagh residence, they found him in a compromising position with the girl.On seeing the victim's family members, Rahmath fled from the location with a stitch on him.
The victim later disclosed to her family members that she was taken to his house on the pre text of marriage, but keeping her in the dark that he was already married and has four children, abused her for three consecutive days. “We nabbed the culprit at Katedan based on a tip off by our special team,'' police said. He was arrested under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
