Rachakonda cyber crime sleuths arrested a 35-yearold man for stalking his estranged wife and sending her abusive messages on WhatsApp.
The accused, Sanjay Beeram, 35, resides at LVS Residency in Ayappanagar, KR Puram, Bengaluru. He is a native of Shivaji Palem in Visakhapatnam. The 28-year-old victim is from Kranti Nagar in Saroornagar. While she was working for a private company in Hyderabad, her family fixed her marriage with Sanjay and they got married in May, 2017. Sanjay claimed to be a software engineer in Cognizant and he forced the victim to quit her job. After marriage, he took her to Bangalore and there she came to know that Sanjay was not working in Cognizant, cyber crime inspector D Jalandhar
Reddy said.
“The victim stayed with Sanjay for 10 days in Bangalore and during the stay he behaved like a ‘psychopath’ with her. In August, 2017, Sanjay pushed the victim out of his house, asking her to get dowry. Since then, she has been staying with her parents in Hyderabad,” the inspector said.
Sanjay sent his wife a conjugal notice as she refused to return. Despite the victim responding to the notice saying that she did not want to stay with him, the accused sent her abusive messages and threats, police said. Based on the complaint of the victim, police registered a case against Sanjay and arrested him from Bengaluru on Thursday.
