Hyderabad: A 38-year-old disabled painter, whose missing complaint was filed with police on January 13, was murdered and his body buried in Manchal forest area on the city outskirts. Police investigation found that the victim was killed by his wife and her paramour, who is a Home Guard.
The deceased, V Chandrasekhar from Chennareddy Nagar in Amberpet, had lost his right hand in an accident when he was young. Some 13 years ago, he had got married to Varalakshmi. On January 13, Varalakshmi lodged a complaint with Amberpet police stating her husband was missing.
During the investigation, the police found out that Varalakshmi was in frequent contact with home guard, Venkatrami Reddy, who works as a driver for an additional DCP (traffic). Venkatrami stays in the same building as Chandrasekhar’s family, and had developed a relationship with Varalakshmi. When the police grilled Vara
Lakshmi, she confessed to having planned her husband’s murder along with her lover. According to the plan, on January 13, Venkatrami and his brother-inlaw, Naresh Reddy of Kanchikacherla, took Chandrasekhar to a forest area in Manchal, saying they knew about a treasure hidden in the forest. Reportedly, Chandrasekhar was a treasure hunter.
The accused smothered the victim to death and buried his body in the forest. Based on information provided by Vara Lakshmi, the police picked up the home guard, who confessed that he was having an affair with Vara Lakshmi since past few months. He told the police that about 40 days ago, she complained to him saying Chandrasekhar was physically torturing her. The duo then hatched a plan to eliminate Chandrasekhar.
The police are trying to find out the location where the accused buried the body.
