Man rapes daughter in Hyderabad

A father who allegedly raped his own 11-year-old daughter was arrested by Bowenpally police on Thursday.  The incident came to light when the victim’s mother Fahmeeda Begum, 35, found both of them lying naked on the bed.  The accused was booked under POCSO act and relevant sections of the IPC.

The police has identified the accused as Md. Ahmed Sharief, 44, who used to work as a painter and was a known sexual offender.

According to the complaint by the victim's mother Fahmeeda Begum, she married Sharief, 13 years ago and had two children. Last Thursday, the victim was down with fever and therefore the mother went to the market to buy fruits for her daughter.

Meanwhile, she saw her husband who had already bought fruits in the market and asked him to go home and give them to her daughter while



she would bring her Panipuri.

Eventually, when she reached home around 6 pm she saw both her daughter and husband lying naked on the bed in an obscene act. She forcibly separated them. On enquiring with her daughter, Begum said, “She opened up about the sexual assault and that when the victim tried to shout, he shut her mouth.”

She also said in her complaint that her husband was also previously involved in a sexual assault case under Jeedimetla police station limits and went to jail for that, but still he had not changed his attitude.

S. Ranga Rao, Assistant commissioner of police said, “Thinking of the woman’s dignity and pride she did not give the complaint early, but later on she gathered the courage to come forward and give a complaint against her husband.”
