Meerut police personnel were seen abusing and slapping a young girl for allegedly choosing a Muslim partner in a video that went viral recently. Now, another horrific clip has emerged in which the same Muslim man is seen being thrashed brutally by right-wing group workers in presence of a policeman.
In the video that went viral on Wednesday, right-wing group members can be seen hurling abuses and threatening the Muslim youth, accusing him of 'love jihad', all this in presence of a police constable.
Instead of taking action against the goons immediately, the cop's gesture shows that he wasn't in a mood to help the victim.
"Ek ek ko aur chun chun ke maarenge [Will thrash all such one by one]," the goons can be heard saying in the video.
On Sunday last week in Jagrati Vihar area of Meerut, the right-wing
members raided a rented house and apprehended a girl student with a Muslim youth. After receiving information from locals, cops reached the spot and took both of them in different police vehicles to the nearby police station.
A video was made viral by the cops themselves in which a policeman was seen abusing the student and a policewoman beating her up in a police van.
When India Today spoke to the girl, she said that the youth being beaten up in the viral video is her friend and that they study together.
"These are the Bajrang Dal workers who are beating up my friend. We study together. I was also being pressurised to register a false rape case against him because of his religion," the girl said.
Three cops were suspended and a home guard was terminated from service for shaming the girl and filming the entire act.
