Bhopal: A ten-year-old girl was on Friday allegedly gang raped and brutalised in a town in Satna district in Madhya Pradesh.
The victim who suffered grievous wounds in her private part following insertion of a sharp object by the accused was admitted in a government hospital in Rewa in the state in serious condition, police said.
The incident took place in Maihar at around seven in the morning, police said.
Two persons, Atul Barolia (31) and Ravindra Kumar Ravi (30), were arrested in connection with the incident, Maihar police station in-charge Animesh Dwivedy said.
According to him, the survivor who had gone outside to fetch water was forcibly taken to a bush by the two accused who allegedly took turns to rape her.
She was then allegedly subjected to torture by the accused who inserted an object
into her private part, leaving her bleeding profusely, police said.
The two accused then fled the spot after committing the heinous crime, according to the police.
The survivor’s parents started searching for her when she did not turn up and found her in the crime spot in an injured condition, police said.
They took her to the local police post to file an FIR.
Later, the victim was admitted to the district hospital in Satna. She was then shifted to district hospital in Rewa when her condition worsened.
The two accused were daily wage earners, according to the police.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed shock and sadness over the incident and ordered the police to take stringent action against the accused.
