Minor girl raped by tanker driver in Hyderabad

The Madhapur Police arrested a man on charges of raping a minor girl here on Wednesday.

The arrestred, Ravi, 24, a water tanker driver from Venkatagiri in Yousufguda, befriended the 15-year-old girl who has been staying with her parents and younger sibling in Madhapur for six months now.

According to the police, the girl used to go to a nearby water tanker to fetch water. Last week, when the victim along with her younger sister went to



the same place for water, where Ravi spirited her away to a nearby room and raped her.

The girl informed this to her mother, who in turn, lodged a complaint with the police.A case of rape was booked under the Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) was booked against the accused. Following the complaint, Ravi went absconding. He was however traced and nabbed by the police.
