Minor girl raped, impregnated by the paramour of her mother in Hyderabad

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped and impregnated by the paramour of her mother at Dundigal on the city outskirts.

According to the police, the girl’s mother and the suspect, who were in an illicit relationship, were living together for a decade. He overpowered and raped the child multiple times when she was alone at home. He also threatened to harm her and her mother if she revealed it to anyone. Fearing consequences, the girl remained silent. Recently, she realised she was pregnant and when the suspect



learnt about it, he allegedly got the pregnancy aborted at a private hospital in Nizampet.

The incident came to light after the girl fell seriously ill on Saturday and was taken to the hospital on Sunday evening. The doctors found out the reason for her illness and told her mother, after which the child revealed what had happened.

Based on a complaint, the Dundigal police booked a case under the IPC and sections of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are investigating.
