Newly-wed woman commits suicide in Hyderabad

A 20-year-old-woman allegedly committed suicide over family issues at Humayunnagar. According to the police, the woman, Mehroon Begum, 20, got married to Mazher Khan against the wishes of her family two months ago.

The couple lived at Owaisipura in Humayunnagar. Three days ago, there was a function at the house of Mehroon but she did not receive a call from her parents to attend it. Her



husband told police that she slipped into depression and set herself ablaze by dousing herself with kerosene on Monday afternoon.

Relatives shifted her to Osmania General Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment late on Monday night.

The police registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC and are investigating.
