The police on Thursday solved the murder mystery of 24-year old housewife and arrested two persons. They recovered stolen gold worth Rs 1.3 lakh and cash from their possession.
According to Vanasthali puram police, the accused were identified as V Swamynaidu Raj Kumar (30) and Muthu Ramu (32), a petty businessmen residing in the area of Chandrayangutta. Police said Raj Kumar developed an illicit relationship with the deceased, D Archana, a resident of Dwarakamai Nagar (Vanasthalipuram), with the intention of stealing her valuables.
Raj Kumar used to frequently borrow money from her. When she stopped giving money, Raj Kumar along with his friend Ramu hatched a plan to rob Archana and kill her. On July 28, the duo
went to Archana’s house when she was alone. After the three had drinks at her residence, Raj Kumar and his friend strangled her to death using a sari.
They then hung her to the ceiling fan to make it look like a suicide and stole her gold ornaments. The accused mortgaged the stolen gold items with Muthoot Finance Corporation in Chandrayangutta and also with a pawn broker to obtain Rs 73,000 loan, the police said.
During the investigation, police came to know about the accused visiting Archana’s house on July 27. Cops picked them up for questioning from their houses on Tuesday. During interrogation, they confessed to their crime. Cops recovered four-tola stolen gold and Rs 10,000 cash from them.
