The prime accused in the case involving in the theft of the cartons of cigarette and pan masala worth Rs 8 lakh in Adilabad on October 8, has been arrested. He was produced before the media on Tuesday. Already, three persons were arrested in the case and the property was recovered by the police.
In-charge Superintendent of Police M Rajesh Chandra said that the prime accused identified as Dane Kamalesh alias Bala Saheb alias Kamalesh Tiwari belonged to Ahmed Nagar
in Maharashtra. Kamalesh was apprehended in Adilabad while he was moving suspiciously.
Rajesh said that Kamalesh was one of the five persons who were booked on charges of lifting carton boxes consisting of cigarettes and pan masala by breaking open a warehouse at B Ramulu complex in the town. He stated that the footage of CCTV cameras helped investigators in nabbing the culprits. He said that steps were being taken to enhance surveillance in the district headquarters.
