A woman has alleged that her son, a Class 2 student, was sexually abused by the school principal in Rajendranagar.
On Thursday afternoon tension prevailed at the school premises as the boy’s family members and a few others attacked a security guard at the school while protesting against the alleged abuse and demanding justice for the boy.
Rajendranagar Police have registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act after registering the complaint. The police questioned the school principal, a few teachers and the victim’s younger brother and verified the CCTV footage at the school. According to the police, the
footage did not yield any evidence to corroborate the allegation.
For the last 15 days, the boy has refused to attend the school, telling his parents that the school principal sexually abused him. The mother of the child went to school along with several others and questioned the principal and other staff members on Thursday.
Rajendranagar Police inspector and assistant commissioner of police reached the school premises to avoid any violent incident.
The school authorities have lodged a complaint at the Rajendranagar Police station against the persons who assaulted the security guard.
