Railway employee held for theft from friend in Hyderabad

Meerpet police arrested a 23-year-old railway employee for stealing Rs.7.9 lakh cash from his friend’s house. Mohammed Moiz Ahmed alais Moiz from Fatima Nagar, Yousufguda, is an engineering graduate who got a job in the railways on compassionate grounds after the death of his father.

According to LB Nagar DCP M Venkateswar Rao, the accused ended up in financial trouble as he was leading a lavish lifestyle.On June 4, Moiz Ahmed went to Agriculture Colony in Hasthinapuram, Meerpet to meet his schoolmate who is pursuing studies in US.

When Moiz went there, another friend was



present in the house. After a while, Moiz told his friend that he had a severe headache and she asked him to rest while she got medicine from a shop.

When she went out, Moiz searched the bedroom cupboards and stole Rs.7.9 lakh cash. Moiz hid the cash in his backpack and after his friend returned, he spent some more time there to avoid suspicion.

The theft was discovered after his friend’s parents returned home. During investigation, police questioned Moiz and he confessed to the theft. Police recovered Rs.7.65 lakh cash.
