SHE Teams arrests 53 in Hyderabad for harassing women

The Rachakonda SHE Teams police, over the last three weeks, have arrested 53 persons, including five minors, for their involvement in 48 cases booked in different police stations in the Hyderabad city.

The suspects were caught during decoy operations taken up the SHE Teams wing during this period. The operations were carried out based on complaints received through the official WhatsApp number. “Majority of the complainants



were harassed at junctions, bus stops, work places and colleges,” said Mahesh M Bhagwat, Rachakonda Police Commissioner.

Petty cases have been booked against the suspects and they were counselled by counsellors of Bhumika Women’s Collective, a city-based NGO, in the presence of their family members. “Minors were counselled by psychological experts of the NGO,” said Bhagwat.
