Siddipet suicide case: Elderly couple kills self by consuming pesticide

Siddipet: An elderly couple committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Chinnakodur mandal headquarters on Tuesday night. The couple reportedly did not take any food during the past four days since there was none to look after them.

The deceased identified as Koneti Venkatesham, 75 and his wife, Ilavva, 70, had been suffering from age related diseases since long. Though Ilavva had bedridden with paralysis ten years ago,  Venkatesham used to run the family



doing petty works. During the past one year, Venkatesham could not do any work even the household chores. In a state of helplessness, the couple have consumed pesticide on Monday late night.

The neighbours had rushed them to Area Hospital in Siddipet on the same night after finding in unconscious state. They died while undergoing treatment tuesday night. The couple were survived by three sons, who reportedly did not take proper care. A case was registered.
