Six persons were today arrested for allegedly trying to rape a 20-year-old woman after kidnapping her in the neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, police said. The accused - Abdul Rahman, Abdul Kareem, Abdul Rahim, Syed Abdul Faheem, Mohd Imran Ali - came to a farm house situated on the outskirts of Rallaguda village in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana, on the evening of October 10. On noticing the young woman alone, they allegedly kidnapped her by dragging her in to a vehicle.
"Later, they confined her in the farm house where Bandari Yadaiah, a watchman, also joined the five accused and attempted to rape her, but the victim resisted after which they
manhandled and threatened her at knife point," police said. The victim, however, managed to escape from the clutches of the accused and ran into the nearby fields. She rang up her boyfriend who alerted police at RGI Airport police station and a police team started searching for the woman and located her near the farmhouse, police said.
"The victim was taken to a hospital. On the complaint of the victim, a case was registered and during course of investigation all the six accused persons were arrested and produced before a court," RGI airport police station inspector M Mahesh said. The six accused were booked under relevant sections of IPC.
