Student arrested for raping minor girl

Musheerabad police have arrested a 19-year-old degree student for blackmailing and sexually exploiting a 17-year-old girl.The culprit has been identified as M Pavan Kumar Yadav from TRT Quarters, Ram Nagar.

Pavan befriended the victim Pavan befriended the victim by promising to marry her two years ago. He invited her home on January 28, 2017 on the pretext of introducing her to his family members.

“Pavan's family members were not at home and he lied to the victim. When the victim reached, he raped her,“ Musheerabad inspector S Ramachandra Reddy said.During the



sexual assault, Pavan clicked photographs of the victim. “Pavan kept on threatening the victim saying that he will post her photographs on social media if she did not agree to meet him,“ deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Central Zone, Joel Davis said.

On March 13, he raped her again. The victim then informed her parents and they lodged a complaint on Saturday .

A case was registered against Pavan under sections 376 (rape), 354-B (assault or use of criminal force with intent to disrobe) of IPC and section 5 rw 6 of the POCSO Act.
