Sub Inspector held for ilicit affair

A Sub-inspector, who was allegedly maintaining an illicit affair with a married woman at SR Nagar here, was arrested by the police after the woman’s husband caught them together and locked up both in a room. 
 According to the police, the SI, D Vijay Kumar (35), a 2012-batch officer and a native of Jammikunta in Karimnagar, was attached to the Khammam Two Town police station. Married and with two daughters, he was allegedly maintaining an illicit affair with the 27-year-old woman, who has a six-year-old son and whose husband is a software engineer working in Gachibowli.On Sunday night, around 10 p.m. the complainant left his house informing his wife that he had some emergency at work. However, he returned around 12.30 a.m. and found that the SI with his wife. He immediately locked the door and called in the police, who reached the spot and took



both the SI and the woman into custody. 
 According to Mohammad Waheeduddin, Inspector, SR Nagar, the two were reportedly in a relationship for the last nine months after meeting on Facebook. Both used to chat regularly on Facebook, which the woman’s husband came to know. He was also reportedly told by neighbours that the SI was visiting his flat regularly in his absence, after which he began keeping a tab on her chats. He had thus come to know that the SI would be visiting her on Sunday and decided to return home early so that both could be caught and handed over to the police, the Inspector said. 
Based on the complaint given by the husband, the police have registered a case under Section 448 (House trespass) and 497 (Adultery). Both the SI and the woman were produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
