Teacher held for thrashing child in Hyderabad

A school teacher was apprehended on Tuesday for allegedly administering corporal punishment to a 14-year-old student.

According to Kulsumpura police, the the accused M. Venkatesh (24), a mathematics teacher at a private school in Narasimha Nagar Colony, beat the Class IX male student with a wooden stick on his hands and



arms. The student has injury in the form of welts. The victim informed his parents about the corporal punishment, who then approached the Kulsumpura police and lodged a complaint.The accused is in custody and a case under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code has been booked.
