Police arrested three contract killers and a supari giver at Nandyal Cheruvu Katta on Friday. Speaking to the media, Circle Inspector D Muralidhar Reddy said Sriramulu, a resident of Nandyal, is the main accused in murder case of Raghavaiah of Samudrala Palli village in Racharla mandal of Prakasam district in 2014.
Since then, relatives of Raghavaiah are on the lookout for Sriramulu to avenge his death. Venkateswarlu, a close relative of the deceased, hired contract killers
Thammarapalli Balaraju, Maddaiah, Maddileti Reddy, Bathulla Balaraju and Obulesu to kill Sriramulu. Venkateswarlu finalised the deal for Rs 2 lakh and paid Rs one lakh advance to the contract killers.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested supari giver Venkateswarlu and three contract killers at Nandyal Cheruvu Katta. During the interrogation, Venkateswarulu, Maddileti, Balaraju and Maddaiah confessed to the crime.
The court remanded the accused in police custody.
