Three involved in attempted murder of elderly couple held in Hyderabad:

The KPHB police arrested three persons in connection with a recent murder attempt on an elderly couple.

The arrested persons were V Venkateshwara Rao (58), a school assistant from Karimnagar district, P Sai Krishna (27) from Alwal and N Santosh (27) from Karimnagar district. V Sai Krishna, 31, the prime suspect who is not yet arrested and has been termed absconding, is reportedly undergoing treatment in a Karimnagar hospital. Another suspect, V Madhavi Latha (51), is also absconding.

Colony over trivial issues. Unable to bear the harassment, Neethika had filed a dowry harassment case against Sai Krishna at the KPHB police station in 2019 and the same is pending before court.

According to the police, on Saturday night, Sai Krishna went to his in-laws’ house – T Sagar Rao and T Rama – with a bottle of petrol and doused the elderly couple with it before setting them ablaze. Neethika escaped as she locked herself in a room.

The couple’s neighbours shifted them to Gandhi Hospital. The arrested persons were produced before court.
