Two held for raping minor girl in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Borabanda police have arrested a 19-year-old boy and his friend, a minor, on charges of allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl The girl was the former’s tenant. The duo threatened her at knifepoint and raped her in March 2023 for the first time and since then they raped her on multiple occasions. The incident came to light a few days ago when the girl revealed the story of her abuse to her parents, following which a case was registered.

It was learnt that when she complained



of ill health a few days ago, her mother inquired about her and after much persuasion the girl confided in her mother detailing the trauma that she has been going through for almost seven months.

Her parents lodged a complaint with Borabanda Police, who registered a case under charges of gang rape, Pocso Act and also Prevention of Atrocities against SCs & STs act. The girl was also sent for medical examination and counselling.
