A senior assistant working with the Rachakonda police commissioner’s office and an engineering college employee were arrested for forging the signatures of senior police officers for granting licences to security agencies. Two other employees of Cyberabad police commissionerate and an employee of the Vikarabad SP office and one from Rachakonda are absconding.
The culprits are Ale Ashok, a senior assistant in the GPF section of Rachakonda commissionerate and Munasu Venugopal, working in Samskruti Engineering College. The other culprits are Sundara Raju, the senior assistant in charge of M Section at the Rachakonda police commissionerate, Anil Kumar, the senior assistant in the A-2 section in Cyberabad police commissionerate, Vasanth Kumar, who earlier worked at Cyberabad and is now working at Vikarabad SP office and Manmeeth, a senior assistant in the M-1 section in Cyberabad.
Police said that while checking files
on licenses they found that some ministerial staff had forged the signatures of top police officials for pecuniary gains. The fact came to light when the TS Intelligence Security wing returned some files regarding the granting of police license to security agencies. Ashok admitted that Anil, Manmeeth, Sund-ara Raju and Vasanth used to forge signatures of top officials while processing files.
He also said that this was a regular practice in vogue among many other staffers of the commissionerate. "We are probing the role of other staffers and the role of two security agencies which have come out during the preliminary inquiry. We can get more details after we take them into custody," Uppal inspector Y. Narsimha Reddy said. Based on a complaint from DCP( Admin), a case was booked under sections 409, 4191 4201 468, 471 and 474 of IPC. Ashok and Venugopal were remanded to custody and a hunt is on to nab the others.
