Meerut: There seems to be no stopping crime against women in the state of Uttar Pradesh. In a fresh incident, miscreants barged into a woman's home and dragged her out in an attempt to gang-rape her.
The horrible incident took place in Pali village under Sardhana police station of Meerut district. When a youth tried to save the woman after hearing her screams, the goons attacked him with a spear. The youth was injured in the attack.
The woman has now given a complaint against the accused demanding strict action, according to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan.
The incident took place when the woman was working outside her home. Suddenly, five men reached her house and started passing lewd comments on her.
When she resisted the molestation, the accused forcibly took the woman away forcibly to a house and tried to rape her. The woman
started shouting and screaming raising an alarm. A local resident identified Vasudev, who was passing through the house, heard the screams and rescued the woman.
Upset over this, the accused brutally thrashed the man. He was also attacked with a spear injuring him.
The accused then fled the spot after local residents gathered at the scene. The victims immediately informed the police about the crime.
In another incident reported from Rohta area of Meerut district, a girl was raped when she was going to dump dung. The crime took place in Kalyanpur village on Thursday morning. It is alleged that a local youth stopped in her way and dragged her to the house of his uncle and raped her. The accused later fled after threatening her.
The victim later reached her home and narrated her ordeal to parents who approached police.
