Watchman rapes 13-year-old girl in Hyderabad

A 13-year-old girl was raped by an 18-yearold watchman in a cinema theatre at Borabanda on Tuesday morning.

At around 7am, the girl came to Vijeta Cinema Hall to fetch water for daily use. Prasad, watchman at the theatre, saw the girl alone inside the cinema hall premises. Taking advantage of the situation, he dragged her into the toilet.

Later, he gagged the girl using a cloth and committed the crime, police said. After the sexual assault, Prasad threatened her with dire consequences if she talked about the incident



to anyone and let her go. 

After reaching her house, the victim narrated the ordeal to her parents . The parents, who are daily wage labourers, lodged a complaint with the Sanathnagar police. The victim works as a rag-picker.

Police sent the victim to the government hospital for medical examination, while the offender has been taken into custody. Based on her complaint, a case was registered under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and POCSO Act.
