With wife's photo as DP, Husband Falls Prey to cyber fraud

A Hyderabad based techie, who had kept his wife's photo as a Whats App DP, has fallen prey to cyber crime. The crime came to the limelight after he approached cybercrime police.

The reports suggest that it all started after the husband received a link on his Whats App. He was redirected to a page from that link where call girls' photographs, time slots, and rates were mentioned. The techie immediately replied to the sender of the link that he was not interested. The scamster still demanded the money



claiming that the link had been clicked as he viewed the photos. The techie refused to pay any money.

The scamster did not end the matter there; rather downloaded his wife's picture from Whats App DP of the techie and morphed it. The scamster started blackmailing him after sending the morphed photo to the techie.

The techie transferred money to the fraudster bowing to the blackmail. However, when the fraudster was not satisfied with 1 lakh, the techie approached the cybercrime police.
