New Delhi: In yet another horrible crime reported from the national capital, a woman was first kidnapped and then gang-raped by two men including an autorickshaw driver in east Delhi.
The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital and later referred to South Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital where surgery was performed on her. Police said no arrests have been made so far. The incident took place on Thursday night.
On the basis of a statement of sub-inspector Anuj Kumari, a case has been filed under Sections 376-D (gangrape), 365 (abduction), 377 (unnatural sex) and 323 (causing hurt), according to a report in Indian Express.
"A PCR call was received at 11.28pm on March 24 in which the caller informed that a woman was found lying unconscious and blood was coming out of her mouth. The PCR van
rushed the woman to the hospital," the FIR said.
Later, a woman police official reached the hospital and tried to find some eyewitnesses, but there were none.
"We have formed five teams to nab the accused. The victim has been shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for better medical care," the report quoted Priyanka Kashyap, DCP (East), as saying.
Cops say they are scanning CCTV footage to identify the vehicle. Police have also been conducting raids to nab the accused.
The woman stays with her husband and is a vagrant. The woman took the auto at around 9pm when the driver told her that there was some issue with the vehicle.
"The autodriver then called his associate and the duo took her to a secluded place where they gang-raped her," said a police officer.
