Pune: A young woman and her two family members were allegedly assaulted by their three neighbours and their two associates in Vadgaonsheri area of Maharashtra's Pune district. Based on a complaint lodged by the woman's mother, the police registered a case and arrested the five accused.
As per the case details, The woman's neighbour had installed a CCTV security camera system at his house. One of the CCTV cameras was facing the woman's bathroom. She approached her neighbour and asked him to the angle of the CCTV camera facing her washroom.
Shockingly, the neighbour allegedly humiliated her and even hurled abuses. The woman's brother came rushing to the scene to settle the matter. The conversation, however, failed to produce any positive outcome. Subsequently, the brother-sister duo went back to their house, according to a report by Pune Mirror.
Shortly afterwards, a group of five people allegedly forcibly entered the woman's house and thrashed her, her brother and their mother. The woman's
mother asked one of her female friends to come to their house for helping the family. When the friend arrived, she was also assaulted by the accused.
Later, the woman's mother lodged a police complaint in connection with the incident. Based on her complaint, a case was filed at the Chandan Nagar police station. The police immediately sprang up in action. A police officer said that five people have been arrested, adding that the case is being investigated.
In another incident, a 29-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Gota locality of Ahmedabad, reported after she was harassed for dowry. The woman left behind a note, wherein she alleged that she was being harassed by her husband and his family members for dowry.
Later, the deceased woman's father later filed a police complaint against the accused. Based on the complaint, the police filed a case against the deceased woman's husband and his four family members under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
