Woman attempts suicide at Metro station in Hyderabad

A woman attempted suicide by jumping from the concourse level of the Victoria Memorial Metro Station at Kothapet in Chaitanyapuri on Tuesday and survived with minor injuries. Police suspect that she was depressed over family issues.

The woman was identified as Swapna (25), wife of a software employee and a resident of NTR Nagar. The



couple has a two-year-old son.

Swapna leaped from the concourse level of the station. Other passengers, who saw this, rushed to her rescue and shifted her to a private hospital where she is being treated. Her condition is said to be stable. The Chaitanyapuri police are investigating.
