Hyderabad: A woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by four persons at Jillelaguda in Meerpet on Thursday night. The suspects, Akhil, Nithin, Prashanth and Srinu, all friends and auto-rickshaw drivers, were arrested.
According to the police, the 35-year-old victim, who came to Koti on a personal work around 5pm, was waiting for an auto-rickshaw at the auto stand to return home. Akhil, who found her alone, approached her and enquired where she was going.
“After he assured her that he would drop her home, the victim boarded the auto-rickshaw from the auto-rickshaw stand. After going to some distance, Akhil, started driving the vehicle to unknown locations,”
said an official.
During this, he allegedly called his friends on phone and they too boarded the auto-rickshaw at a point.
“They all were talking with themselves and Akhil diverted the auto-rickshaw to a secluded road and stopped the vehicle amidst bushes. There, they raped her one after the other. After which they left her and fled from the spot in the auto,” the official said.
Following the victim’s complaint, the Meerpet police booked a case and arrested the suspects on Friday. They were produced before court while the victim was shifted to hospital for medical examination.
