Tamil Nadu: Panic triggered among the residents of Tuticorin district after the city police found a charred body of a man in a forested area of Kovilpatti. The police have arrested three people, including a woman and her minor daughters after the shocking incident.
Soon after the information was received by the police, a team rushed to the spot and sent the body to a nearby government hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Gnanasekar (42), a fish trader.
The police apprehended the man's wife and her two minor daughters, aged 14 and 15 after they became suspicious as the man's family gave contradictory statements during interrogation. Eventually, it was revealed that the man was hacked to death by his own
family members.
During investigation, the police questioned the man's neighbour and the investigating team came to know that there was a fight between Gnanasekar and his wife on October 15.
According to the residents, Gnanasekar suspected his wife of infidelity. He was also suspicious that his elder daughter was in a relationship with a man, identified as Karthik (24). Gnanasekar reprimanded both his wife and daughter as the fight escalated. The woman and her daughter killed him after the brawl.
Later, the mother-daughter duo stuffed Gnanasekar’s corpse in a sack with Kartik's help, burnt his body and disposed of it in the forested area. The cops have arrested all three accused involved in Gnanasekar's murder.
