A woman and her paramour were arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing the former’s husband on October 10. They allegedly killed the victim, a DCM driver, by hitting him on the head with a log for objecting to their extra-marital relationship at the couple’s house at Mallapur.
Nacharam police said Veeraiah, 47, a DCM driver, was found dead on October 10 by a utility bill collector, Jameel Ahmed, when he went to the victim’s house. Jameel alerted police, who discovered that the man’s wife Bhagya Sri was missing. They suspected she might have had a role in the murder. The victim, a native of Nizamabad district, died after he was attacked by Bhagya Sri on his head with a log while he was
asleep.
During investigation, police came to know that Bhagya Sri, who is from Bidar in Karnataka, was having an affair with one Mukesh Rana, her colleague at a private company. The duo was missing after the murder. On Saturday, Bhagya Sri returned to her house at Nagalakshmi Nagar in Mallapur to take her stuff and Nacharam police, who got a tip-off, caught her.
On questioning, Bhagya Sri confessed that she became friends with Mukesh. Later, they got into a relationship. Veeraiah came to know about their affair and reprimanded Mukesh. Since Veeraiah was becoming an obstacle in their relationship, Bhagya Sri killed her husband on the advice of Mukesh, police said. Bhagya Sri and Mukesh were arrested.
