Woman raped in parking lot of multiplex cinema

New Delhi: A 24-year-old woman was raped in a parking lot of the PVR Cinemas in Saket around 8 pm on Saturday. 

The accused, identified as 30-year-old Jamia Nagar-resident Sajid, has been arrested, said the a police officer on Sunday.  “The accused had called the victim on the pretext of providing her a job. He took her for a ride in the car. He drove around for some time and took the car to the parking lot (of PVR Cinemas),” said the police officer. “The victim told us he



then raped her.” 

The police said the woman was offered a soft drink laced with sedatives. “When she was semi-conscious, he forced himself upon her in his car at the parking lot of the multiplex,” said the officer. The woman, however, was not fully under the influence of the sedative, and managed to raise an alarm, which alerted the guards at the parking lot. They and other users of the parking overpowered the accused and handed him over to the police.
