Hyderabad: A woman was allegedly robbed and murdered in Manuguru Express on Sunday.

The incident came to light only on Monday after the Gujarat police arrested a man who had allegedly killed the woman.

According to local police sources, the woman, Ramanamma a native of Bellary in Karnataka, was on her way to Jagathgirigutta to visit her relatives and was travelling in the compartment meant for the “specially abled” persons on Sunday.

The train had stopped over at Secunderabad railway station and during checking the staff found



the body of the woman in the compartment.

The miscreants had reportedly strangulated the woman to death using a towel and fled the scene with Rs. 25,000 in cash that she was carrying in purse. The police registered a case.

Meanwhile, the alleged killer Rahul Jat, was arrested by the Gujarat police in connection with the rape and murder of a 19 year-old girl that was reported on November 14 near Udvada railway station.

During interrogation, he reportedly admitted to have killed Ramanamma.
