Woman sexually assaulted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A woman was sexually assaulted and attacked by a man here at Moosapet under Kukatpally police station limits. The incident came to light on Sunday when the woman was admitted to Osmania General Hospital. 

Going into details, the 50-year-old victim who separated from her husband was residing with her mother at Moosapet and working as a daily wage labourer. She befriended one Ramu (38) who stays near her house. On Friday, when the woman was walking home, the accused offered a ride on his bike and later took her to an isolated place and committed the crime.

attacked her with a boulder on the head and injured her face. Thinking that the woman was dead, the accused fled the spot. 

Meanwhile, the woman who spent the night at the place went back to her home on Saturday morning. The woman's mother called the ambulance and also informed the police who shifted her to Osmania Hospital. The accused, Ramu who learned about the police case ran away with his family. 

The police said that he is a native of Meliyaputti in Srikakulam and migrated to Hyderabad 15 years ago. The case is being investigated.
