Woman sexually assaulted in Sharimpet field

A 32-year-old farmer was arrested by the Shamirpet police for sexually assaulting a 35-year  old married brick kiln worker.

The accused was identified as G Ganesh, a farmer from Adraspally in Shamirpet. There is a brick kiln in the land abutting Ganesh's agricultural farm at Adraspally . The families of the labourers working at the brick kiln have been staying in huts erected next to the bore well and Ganesh observed that women workers were frequently coming to the bore well for water.

Ganesh noticed the victim coming to his fields and decided to sexually assault her at an opportune moment. As per the plan, Ganesh waited near his bore well at 1 am on May 13 and when the victim came out of her hut to attend nature's call, he assaulted her.“Ganesh



lunged at the victim from behind. He gagged her by covering her mouth with his hand. The victim resisted Ganesh's attempt to rape her. Ganesh grew furious and physically assaulted the victim on her private parts before abandoning her,“ Shamirpet SI A Sattaiah said.

After the offender fled from the spot, the victim gathered herself and returned to the hut. Family members took her to Shamirpet police station and as she suffered a bleeding injury on her private parts, police immediately shifted her to ahospital for treatment. Police registered a case under sections 376 (rape) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC .After a detailed probe, police nabbed Ganesh from his house on Monday . He was produced before a local court and remanded in judicial custody.
