A total of 1,03,001 students who appeared for the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET-2016), the competitive exam for admission into polytechnic colleges, cleared the test. Of these qualifiers 64,784 were boys and 38,217 girls.
Results of the POLYCET were release by Deputy Chief Minister K. Srihari, here on Monday. He stated that out of the 1,27,972 students who had applied for the test, 1,24,747 appeared at it. Among those who appeared for the
test, 82.57 per cent cleared it. The percentage of success among girls is 85.67 and among the boys it is 80.86 with 36 out of 120 being the qualifying marks. However, there is no qualifying mark for the SC, ST students.
Mr. Srihari stated that ranks were given based on marks obtained by the students and in case of more than one student scoring same marks, their performance in mathematics and physics were taken into consideration in that order.
