The Prime Minister Internship Scheme is designed to offer students real-world exposure and practical experience, enhancing their employability. Registration for the scheme will open on October 12 and close on October 25, 2024. Announced by the Union Government on October 3, 2024, this initiative will create 1.25 lakh internship opportunities for candidates during the financial year 2024-25.

These opportunities will be offered by 500 of India’s top

companies, with the aim of bridging the gap between education and employment. This scheme was introduced as part of the Union Budget 2024-25 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is overseeing the project through the dedicated portal www.pminternship.mca.gov.in. The scheme has already attracted significant interest, with over 1,000 internships posted by companies such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Max Life, and Alembic Pharma.
