The provisions in Telangana State Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) Act 2018 have come into force from Monday. An order was issued to this effect by Dr. B Janardhan Reddy, Secretary to Government, Education.
According to the Act, 25 per cent of seats in various
courses offered by the private universities in the State should be exclusively reserved for students of Telangana on the basis of their domicile status. The private varsities would have full autonomy for starting academic programmes and also admission process.
