As many as 30,606 of the 32,330 candidates that appeared for the Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test (T EdCET) qualified in the examination, the results of which were declared on Wednesday.
Of the candidates that sat for the exam, conducted on May 31 for admissions into the two-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) course, nearly 79% (25,758) were girls, with only 6,562 boys taking the test that was conducted in five methodologies — Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Studies and English.
While Hyderabadi girl Sucharita B topped the chart in Maths with a score
of 106 marks, Nalgonda girl Amathul Wasey Afeefa was the Physical Sciences topper with 98 marks.
Thallapally Vinay Kumar was the English topper with a score of 122, Naziya Naaz with 97 marks was the Biological Sciences top scorer while Ganapuram Shivashankar Reddy with 98 marks was the Social Studies topper.
The state has about 195 colleges offering BEd course with nearly 16,000 seats up for grabs. TSCHE officials said the admission schedule will be released once all the universities submit the list of affiliated colleges to the council.
