Many think that Google+ is just a tech fad, I’m not one of them. We all heard and maybe believed the rumors about Google+ failing to compete with other social network when it first launched in 2011 but where it is now leaves no room for speculations about the importance of Google+ for businesses and brands. Without further ado; here are the top 5 reasons why your business should be on Google right now:
1-Pages for Businesses
Pages are community centers for your customers and stakeholders.
Creating a business page on Google+ allows users to rate your business and write reviews. It also gives you the chance to put your business on Google Map. When you add your business address to the page it will appear on neighborhood search results, which will increase your reach to potential customers.
As a plus, if you get your business page verified, Google+ will give you access to very useful analytics about your page such as what customers search for on Google to get to your page.
2-Ready SEO
Simply put, the more people who follow your personal or business brand
on Google+, the higher the chance of your content appearing in their
search results. If they use certain keywords that you use in your
Google+ updates, your page will appear in the top
results.
3-Easy segmentation and targeting
You can use Google+ Circles to segment your audience into relevant groups such as loyal customers, leads, influencers, media, etc. Google+ has a search bar which you can use to find individual people, pages, or topics people are talking about.
With the help of Circles, you can easily target your posts if you wish to communicate with a certain group of people by selecting their Circle.
4-It’s the second largest social network in the world
Google+ is growing fast with more than 10 million users when it started out, it has become last year the 2nd largest social network in the world with Facebook in first place. While some are still questioning the benefits of joining Google+, others are using the network effectively to market themselves to the world.
5-Free featuring for business pages
When you create a business page and get it verified, your business will be featured on Google search when a customer is searching for your business name. For example, this is what I got when I googled “Cinnabon”. Note that I’m currently in Amman, Jordan
